But if you've read "The Devils" there is an entire dialectic, and even a
dogma, to the behaviour, determination and deductions of characters such as
Kirilov and "long-eared" Shigalyov, who promotes the idea that unlimited
liberty will conduct to unlimited despotism. Surely it can all be
extrapolated to the many mindless ( albeit often artful) pleasuresto be
found in the Pynchonesque ouvre? =)
