I agree with you in praising J.G. Ballard, and this, although I haven´t read
the famous »I Wanna Fuck
« essay. 
If we associate TP with writers from the sci-fi zone and its sourroundings,
Ballard is ön top of the list. Didn´t he say that he »is merely into personal
mythologies than into hard science
«? I quote his from memory only. 

Just to avoid another De Lillo alert ;-) let me distract your attention to a
remarcable ballardian influence on Madonnas last two albums. The cover of
»Music« resembles the cover of the American paperback issue of »Vermilion
Sands« by Carrol&Graf. The whole arty post-apocalyptic decadence of the novel fits
Madonnas last album also quite well. Than there is »Drowned World«,
Ballards, I dare to say so, most luddite novel.

There can be only one Don and that´s DON BIZARRO *gg*
