Says, in this instance, someone who has read Ellroy, Celine, Beckett, and
Kafka.
Ellroy is lurid, hamfisted, obvious, and derivative.
But this is typical. You post an opinion that a number of people who have
read Ellroy find laughable and, rather than argue your points, or make a
case, you go plodding around on the internet looking for someone who agrees
with you, then post it to the list, as if that accomplishes anything. One
can find someone on the internet who agrees with anything, if you look hard
enough.
Is this what is meant by on-line journalism?
