I think the list's criterion should be that as a
director you made absolutely zero good movies, and
just stunk up the joint and ruined it for the rest of
us. Lee has made in my opinion exactly 2 good movies,
"She's Gotta Have It" and "Do the Right Thing" (I'll
leave out "Joe's Bed-Stuy Barbershop" and file under
'student effort'), which, if they seem either dated or
lukewarm today, only attests to their influence in the
pantheon of new black filmmaking. 

Them and, of course, whoever did "House Party."
