"Fat Clyde," bellowed Howie.
"No," said Fat Clyde. "Whatever it is."
He must have been upset. Nobody ever says things like that to a yeoman.

What is so special about a yeoman? Apparently has little to do with Rank,
except that they are enlisted and typically Petty officers. I looked at
several sites but found the following at:

http://www.blueangels.org/Rates/RATEDESC.html

Yeoman - Performs secretarial and clerical work. They deal with visitors,
telephone calls and incoming mail. Organize files and operate copy machines
and order and distribute supplies. They write and type business and social
letters, notices, directives, forms and reports. They maintain files and
service records.

So why doesn't anyone say things like that to a yeoman? My guess is that
you wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of someone who handles your
records, pay, leave, liberty, mail, and so on.
