Text of DeLillo's Acceptance Speech of Jerusalem Prize

This is an essay called "The Fool in his Room" and subtitled, "A
great American author tells of the loneliness of writing". It is
translated from the English for Die Zeit by Frank Heibert; surely
the original is available somewhere. But I will undertake to
translate it back.
