As one who is very interested in April as a historical time frame and one who is lucky enough to be born April 14th, also only being forwarded this e-mail I am responding to and in no ways a Pynchon head, I must let you know:

J.P. Sartre spoke his last words on April 14th and died the next day

Simone de Beauvoir died on the day J.P. Sartre spoke his last words, 4/14, a few years later 

Titanic, dust bowl, Lincoln, many many things are significant to Aprils Aries.  Many many more things I do not have time to mention it is a wonderful energy to be born in and one to die within.
