I stand by my original appraisal of your efforts as "Superior Product" and
"Good Shit well done." Much effort, and appreciated by me, at least,
although, I know I'll never have time to read most of your references, and
always love it more when you actually "tell" me what is to be found in them.
That may sound like a need to be spoon fed, and rusty or no, maybe it is,
but I thought I understood Pynchon, and now I realize I have only this tiny
personal idiosyncratic tip of some vast structure I can barely discern the
outline of... and there is this life which is so demanding and unforgiving-
alas, I must depend on my fellow listers for the rest.

But it was you, Dave, who spoke of the postman. If Stencil is he who looks
for, or seeks, V, then the postman must be he who rings twice, or comes back
for a second time. 

I didn't mean to cut you, man, but it's my instinct, the way I've been
trained- when there is pus below the surface, it needs lancing, lest it turn
to "silver apples of the moon."

At the least, my scalpel has brought to the surface a nice compliment from a
list V.I.P., and that should help salve the wound some. Although,
admittedly, I always suspected you and Max of being one and the same, but
what do I know...
