The Turkish population in Germany (2 1/2 million people) living now the third 
generation  here are called in Turkey "Alemanyis", which is a depreciatory 
word that can be translated as "Germanturks" but in an unfriendly sense. 
There is envy in the word, but also the fact that the Alemanjis sometimes 
play the role of "rich uncles" there. They can build houses, they have the 
money, and most of the young Alemanjis are only on vacation in Turkey. They 
are no Germans, they are no Turks, they are sitting between all chairs.
