  so, so ... listen: i did not start playing that offlist re-entering onlist 
  game here ... i hate this, as you know, & i did not even quote the evil words

  won't let the fucker get through with this ... we had a lot of silly   
  onlist-talk on these issues ... hey, this is the pynchon-list where you get   
  accused of using "anti-semitic rhethorics" just because you called another   
  list-member by his family-name ... so i can understand when people are tired  
  of this whole kinda thing ... on the other side: when a list-member is refered 
  to as an animal which is associated with his country, just because terry   
  suffers from a shortage of arguments, this really crosses a border i myself   
  do not want to cross, because i feel reminded of the fact that in lots of     
  european fußballstadien (soccer-arenas) those sparrow-brained idiots make what 
  they consider to be monkey-sounds when a player of african origin gets the   
  ball ... this is, in fact, de-humanizing along the lines of xenophobic clichés 
  ... another thing i did not expect of flaherty ... & by using this formulation 
  on this other foreign list-member he also implicitly signaled me how he writes 
  offlist about me to others ... ach ja, and then there was this thing with 
  foucault ... 3 times you may guess, why this philosopher, terry never showed  
  any special interest in before, was needed in this specific p-list context and 
  why searle alone was not enough to diss derrida ... it has nothing to do with 
  foucault's brilliant style or with his theory ... right, now you got it ... (& 
  in case you're really interested in the issue, you may check out the stuff i 
  posted earlier in the day).

  ... this sounds like a sentence you hear on the phone from anonymous callers 
  ... so your inner blockwart has had its appearance now ... let him go ... your 
  implicit threat to post my offlist-stuff adressed to you to the list is really 
  below your dignity ... but of course: do whatever you like and live with the 
  consequences! however, i'm not even sure if i get what you're actually talking 
  about ... the only person i've furiously written about to you is millison. 
  well, i probably used - in my teutonic unflätigkeit - all kinds of   
  four-letter-words. & i also used, onlist and offlist alike, words like 
  "pestilent", "pestilence" or "plague-boil"; these, though i took into account 
  the insulting connotations, were primarily meant as psychological terms in the 
  sense of wilhelm reich's concept of "emotional plague"; since this has caused 
  misunderstanding i'll stop using this terminology. anyway, even a hard and, 
  in a certain sense, de-humanizing formulation like plague-boil (pestbeule) has 
  nothing to do with nationality or ethnicity, so i do not really see your 
  point ... i did not call millison a cheeseburger (like in "kraut" or "kiwi"), 
  & i did not call him with (us-specific) animal names ... well, otto, the worst 
  thing about your posting is of course that - just because we share the same 
  nationality - you, like thomas e. in former times, acted [thank you so much, 
  david, for intervening here: you really do care!] as if you were my   
  "discourse-democratical probation officer" or something ... stop this or i'll 
  kick your ass ... & für den fall ziehst du dich besser etwas wärmer an ...
