The Badass

The badass is the folk hero outlaw -- the Robin Hood & yes, Jesse James -- 
but someone also who is strong & physically brave.  Little John was Robin 
Hood's badass.  Like Bugsy Siegel was Meyer Lansky's badass (this in the 
realm of myth, not history).  
Hitler could never have been a badass; he was way too neurotic -- plus he was 
part of the law structure.  
There are still badasses, but we don't live close enough to the action to 
know them.  They are the obscure bandits of the cities who drive the police 
crazy & bring out the beast in them.
