This made me laugh!

But now let's consider the Badass Vs. the Schelmiel:

Could this be Blicero Vs. Slothrop?  I would contend that even this 
distinction is meant to be deconstrusted (to the point of meaninglessness?) 
by the author.

Funny.  I'd enjoyed Pynchon for years before I learned of the 
literary/logical concept of "deconstruction."  It is a term that only seeks 
to nail down thought that would happen without its own coinage.

If Pynchon is cursed with being raised RC, then his deconstructive rebellion 
knows no bounds.  But his Luddism does reflect a conservatism in philosophy. 
  This shows him to be highly conflicted, and this is why we continually 
search him out.
