What book are you reading Sam? Pp. 188-89 of what book.
I think quarter means mercy, or clemency, usually it refers
to the mercy shown to
the vanquished by the victors, so no quarter means no mercy
for the defeated party, kinda like what the Germans did in
Hereoland or maybe I just picked that up off the back of a
Led Zeppelin album.
