But doesn't Katje's band wind up compromising their efforts in a 
material way (someone needing to look back less than the twenty 
years that have passed since I read the whole ting should be able to 
fill this out)?

THen kindly offer any snippets of such "text" as may support your 
position. THere has been a tendency among those banging on Jane 
and Terrance to insist that the texts DO support such a reading, a 
scan of such posts will reveal a dearth of Pynchon, but an awful lot 
of "speaking" FOR him.....I'm foursquare behind both J&T on this, 
and have and will continue to provide specific textual support of our 
shared position..... 

Unless, of course, it is an article of dogma or "true faith" - and what 
political persuasion is defined by such a term?
