Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for Doug to let us know which multinational
corporation is using prison labour in Shaanxi province as he contended
recently.
But what surprises me more than this is the dogged and dogmatic pro-Mao and
pro-Castro rhetoric which gets spouted here, blatantly ignoring the human
rights violations which were and are endemic under those two *totalitarian*
regimes it seems. And, to even suggest that Pynchon or his texts are in any
way supportive or even condoning of either of these despots, or the
tyrannical regimes and years of oppression which they preside/d over in
their respective states, bereft of even the tiniest glimmer of
substantiation, is laughable.
