but capitalism is a system, too

Right you are, "Jane", to see Pynchon's work as exposing the danger 
of systems, but  unfortunate you don't see that, as a system (and one 
of the worst), capitalism falls within that danger zone.. Pynchon's 
critique of the corporation (chartr'd company) in M&D makes that 
clear, if it wasn't perfectly so already in his previous novels. You 
guys who keep trying to make Pynchon a defender of big business and 
capital crack me up.
