Schumacher (er, The Incredible Shrinking Woman, D.C.
Cab, St. Elmo's Fire, The Lost Boys, Flatliners,
Falling Down, Batman and Robin, A Time to Kill, 8
mm--oh, dear ...) is currently casting a "Now a Major
Motion Picture" adaptation of On the Road, with a
screenplay by Russell Banks.  Apparently, earlier
attempts were made by dir. Peter Sellars (with an "a,"
the opera guy) with John Malkovich, and Francis Ford
Copolla with Ethan Hawke and Brad Pitt, but,
obviously, to no avail ...
