So this is what the whole thing is about-getting in the pearly gates. Sounds
like the afterlife is like this one-it's all about "me."
>From today's slate:

The LAT fronts a debate among Islamic clerics concerning the
use of religion as a rationale for violence. At issue is
whether suicide bombers are to be considered martyrs, and
therefore eligible for salvation, or merely suicides, headed
for damnation. There is no obvious consensus and no single
authoritative voice to rule on the matter. According to the
paper, "martyrdom is an enticing reward for believers who are
promised eternal life in paradise, permission to see the face
of Allah, the loving kindness of 72 young virgins who will
serve each martyr in heaven and the privilege to promise 70
relatives eternity in heaven."

But, they are all good people, aren't they. You Pynchon folks sure spend a
lot of time defending/attacking the elect instead of discussing Tommy boy.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. BTW, Michel, I've still got that
extra copy of the GR Companion. Lemme hear from you. A-and Doug, be careful
casting your pearls before swine, not that there's anything wrong with that
either.
Enough of this consern for the other. I digress again from life. Off to see
LSU do what really matters-play baseball. The rest is, as they say, mere
details. Take care of them for me whilst I'm at the park, will you please.

TTFN,
