ALthough a debutant ön the list I can´t keep from telling you my funniest GR
suspicion. (Maybe it´s an old joke) Has anyone ever noticed the resemblance
between the names Roger Mexico and Duncan Idaho. For the highbrow folks,
Duncan Idaho is an important character in Frank Herbert´s sci-fi Epos Dune. Not
enough that Herbert´s first Part of Dune appeared already in ´65, it deals all
the time with conspiracies and drugonomics etc. Very likely that TP at least
heard of it. And shurely, Duncan Idaho shares Rogers unresponded love to
a..er.. Jessica.
Wouldn´t it fit to all the other vernacular jokes and pulp citations in
Pynchons texts?
