Blicero's monologue at _GR_ 722-23 is exactly the sort of "big picture"
recognition of those large-scale "forces" and "trends" in recent human
(patriarchal) history which Doug was lauding Pynchon for two days ago. But I
suppose to expect consistency from him really is asking too much ...
