Two men have been arrested after allegedly clearing a New Jersey supermarket
armed with a can of fart spray.

Geremino T Ranallo, 64, and Warren G Jacoby, 49, are accused of walking into
ShopRite and spraying the noxious gas while around 50 people were inside the
building.

Police have charged the two men, of Oxford Township, Warren County, with
causing or risking widespread injury or damage and assault.

Assistant store manager Rick Calabrese called the police to report the
flatulence-like smell. Two suspects were arrested after they were spotted at
the deli counter.

Mr Calabrese told The Express-Times: "I guess they wanted to have the place
to themselves."

He claimed they had previously been spotted by staff carrying a fart machine
which mimicked the sound of flatulence.
