Reading "V."?

And I'm late, as Esther said...
I've lost a little steam for this project (but I will start VV(17) posts later
this week), partly because I'm increasingly finding these "real" scenes in _V._
- those set in a time and place centering on Benny - as tiring compared to the
more exotic location-time scenes.  Titilation-whore am I.

But I think more and more that Pynchon is not really interested in telling a
storey.  He only uses stories as vehicles for a philosophical crossword puzzle.
 In this regard I see _V._ as a less-developed and shorter GR, both sharing and
discarding elements of philosophy (AKA "religion," Terrance).
