It was a stitch-up. A coup d'etat. It certainly felt like it at the time,
and
the Supreme Court judgement confirmed it for me. I was travelling in
the US during the election, and had the privilege of hearing people
talking about it in Illinois, Michigan, Colorado and Arizona. Many of
them were of the same mind.
The shrill announcements that the election debacle 'proved that
the system worked' neatly concealed the fact that the system never
played out fully. The Senate supervises the Supreme Court, but they
sat on their hands and did nothing.
The whole thing was disgusting, from the old age pensioners, to the
blacks, the anti-semitic jews and the grinning face of yesterday's
idiot, today's warlord.
As Bill Hicks said, 'Go back to sleep America, your rulers are in
charge again.'

Researcher Paul Lukasiak has compiled the definitive analysis proving Al
Gore won Florida. Lukasiak shows:
1) over 10,000 Gore votes were lost through bad ballot design,
2) 45,000 more people went to the polls in Florida to voter for Gore than
for Bush,
3) Gore lost over 500 net votes because some election officials illegally
refused to count prescribed legal votes,
4) selective 'hand counting' in mostly Republican controlled counties gave
Bush an extra 3000+ votes,
5) Bush's 'victory' was based solely on the illegal use of different
standards for counting ballots within counties themselves as well as
statewide,
6) Katherine Harris deliberately ignored both the State Constitution's
guarantee of equal protection, as well as the specific statutory requirement
that she personally ensure that election laws were applied consistently
throughout the state.
