dear  pynchon-listers,  this is truly sad for me because i have seen it
occur before and it destroys honest, interesting discourse amongst people
all around the world who seek an exchange of ideas, knowledge and the
enjoyment and the activities of the human mind such energy may bring. as you
can see, barbara10x continues her inane diatribes.  she adds nothing except
to encourage the void, she causes destruction to the thoughts of others and
even to her own self-centered projections.  she reminds me how many of us
lack grace, civility and courage.  sometimes the internet can be an open
sewer where the offal and feces and rats of the world merge.  yet, the
internet holds much promise.  there are gems here, on this list, but the
barbarians(ioo) of the world create inner fantasies which they externalize
in order hear themselves try to destroy ideas.  much like the taliban who
stone women to death for failing to wear the burkha,  barbara seeks not to
stone her sisters, but to stone and silence ideas expressed here or wherever
she stumbles.  she exhibits no grace, no civility, no courage.  she screams
into the darkness of her empty soul.  i feel sorry for her and the minority
of you on this list who find pleasure in the open sewer.  slowly, this list
may die because of barbara and her ilk. I hope not.

for barbara, i might want to tell her  about the real blood, sweat, tears,
and money i have expended trying to make this great country better; for
surely we have done many evil acts over three hundred years, but each of us
has the power to make this country of ours better. however, my  time and
effort would be wasted, as surely as the pixels and bytes.

so, i'll stick with my little companion text on "V" and "GRAVITY"S RAINBOW"
and leave you all forever.  It's been a barrel of chimps. oh, and barb, if
you want a bottle of my imported Italian EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil, (for some
"FAKE " reason named after my great-grandfather "OLIO FARGOLIO INTEMPRE,
INC", you can backchannel me.  I'll even give you a special price (limited
to b1xx only, sorry, all other p-lstr's).

One thing, though, barbxxx, don't imply i am liar. I take such implications
seriously.  if you remember one thing all your life, it is this: the Truth
has but one face, but the Lie has infinite Visages, and thus to live in
freedom, the TRUTH is omnipotent. Thus, lies are the most evil of words (cf.
"LYING" by sissela bok).  as the alien rastafarian said as he sat at the
controls of his spacecraft, "believe it."

thing tired about that is it's still going on Every day more and more freeze

dear barb, no one told you to shut up.  i just don't understand why you all
must do this mano a mano on the list.  can't you back channel, like this?
why do you feel you have to bring it to pynchon-l? there are plenty of
better informed lists designed exclusively for subject matter such as this.
over the years, i have been a member of many of them.  some die in the
flames and others flourish.  take care.  love/olio/xxx
