Forgive the intrusion, please. I need a word.

Hate to bug everyone with my little problem here but, what is the literary 
term for a novel that teaches people how to behave morally?  I've been 
rifling through all my dictionaries of literary terms trying to figure it 
out...  Please help.  And again, sorry for the intrusion.
