I am all in favor of working our way through the incredible grief over
this horrible tragedy, but to me, all the public outbursts of patriotism
to me sounds like the bleating of sheep as they are led to the slaughter.

And for the record, I am a Vietnam veteran; I consider myself a patriotic
American, and I am a pacifist.
