One thing interesting and possibly Pynchonean (not sure) was the way
allusions were made to European culture and science that went completely
over the heads of the citizenry of Santa Rosa, California. By the way wasn't
Santa Rosa the locale for at least one other famous movie of yore. Teresa
Wright and Joseph Cotten as young woman victimized by her insane (excuse me,
Doug) uncle. Forget the name of the film. Hitchcock of course.
