Okay, finally, I might well have hit on something
here.  By all means, elaborate, if you wish.  I'll be
content merely to have provided a possible point of
discussion.  But do realize, Tyrone/Steve, no slight
was intended to anyone not contacted o'er our long
weekend adrift.  Once I realized something was amiss,
I merely e-mailed a few people I thought might
actually be up and online--those in either Europe or
the Pacific whose addresses I had immediately at
hand--and Otto was good enough to amass an initial
list, to which others added.  My mistake was going no
further than what was immediately in my inbox, is all.
 Had the list not been restored so quickly, I would
have done some mining, as, I'm sure, would have others
...

I stumbled on the Shepard & Shepard book largely by
just searching "Jenkin's Ear," but it did seem
familiar once I set in on it.  I believe I'd read your
earlier post.  Credit where credit's due, which is, of
course, to you, then ...
