I doubt there's anyone here who is cheerleading (only the local media is
doing that). Who can be happy over such things. Grudging support I'll give
the administration, but being in NYC, there are too many sober reminders of
the costs.

You're only pissing on the paper trails, Doug. You're the only one who keeps
bringing up Pynchon's connection to everything--it's not an ignoring of the
facts. Some of us don't see as clear paths of connection as you apparently
do.
