re Just War--who's the pervert who ever tried to link those two words together?

I saw an interview with an aid official on TV this afternoon who just
returned from Afghanistan, and he said he saw quite a few, and heard about
many more, cases of starving Afghans using the dessicant (material included
in those yellow meal packets) as a seasoning and becoming violently ill.
He also reported cases of Afghans being sickened by contaminated food in
the packets.
In the case that you mention, the package also injured the dead woman's baby.
There is an incredibly tragic story waiting to be told of the humanitarian
situation in Afghanistan, and civilian casualties -- but I'm not holding my
breath until the US corporate media reports it. If you recall, they
decided a few weeks ago that civilian casualties aren't worth reporting.
Barbara:
Hey, Jbor and Doug, remember when you two were arguing about whether or not
the little starving Afghani kids were gonna get "blown to bits" when they
retrieved the yellow humanitarian aid packets? Remember, Jbor, you were
particularly nasty about it saying we shouldn't get all in an uproar till it
DOES happen? Well, you gotta hear this: I just heard on KPFA radio
https://secure.transbay.net/kpfa/forms/0_aud.htm ) that a humanitarian aid
package, a packing weighing more than a half ton, came crashing down into an
Afghani house early yesterday morning killing a woman while she sleep.
Isn't that a sad irony? Believe me, Jbor, I'd rather have her alive under
those humanitarian blankets (it was reported to be a cargo full of blankets)
than be able to say 'I told you so,' but Doug told you so. This War thing
stinks so bad it even stinks even when we're trying to help...
