I fail to see how it can be "savage"

No Doug. I'm not going to explain this to you.
This is only your attempt to divert attention form what you actually
wrote and I
objected to.

This statement is true.

Weapon systems makers and big business can and do and have profited from
war.

But this is not your hypothesis.

Here is what you said,

"We might also look to GR for insight into the causes
of War -- in the Pynchonian world view -- and how that
might relate to the current situation. No accident
that the U.S. military and financial powers are the
focus of hatred, given the violence that they have
perpetrated and sponsored."

AND

"It's understandable that in the shock, grief, and
depression that linger after the tragedy, people tend
to forget recent history. Recall how the
military-industrial machine that developed as the U.S.
prepared for and entered WWII continued to expand and
drive the economic boom of the 50s, and when that
began to flag, another war (in Vietnam) kept the gears
turning and the money flowing and the oil pumping for
another decade or so. It wasn't until Reagan-Bush
decided in the 80s to let the tycoons double-dip
(collect profits from Pentagon contracts for weapon
systems and supporting infrastructure and pay lower
taxes) that we got a significant slowdown in the
economy. Sure the U.S. economy is taking a dive, but
it's temporary, and as Bush and his buddies start
pumping money into this new war effort we'll pull out
of it the way the economy pulled out of the Great
Depression with WWII."

AND

"Pynchon's work is enlightening on this topic, particularly GR."

This is your hypothesis.

When I asked you to provide research, some evidence, some facts, an
explanation of how this war economy would work and when I pointed out
the errors in your hypothesis, the most obvious one being that the USA
economy today is not the same as it was during the previous decades, you
resorted to ad hominem (drunk, on drugs, a a Bush supporter, blah, blah,
blah....) and all the other nasty tricks you are well known for here.

Now Doug, if you have not noticed, I have posted a few things to the
MDMD discussion that are right up your alley: The Press and censorship,
Insurance and profiteers, LeSpark's weapon's business, his war crimes;
LeSpark's is discribed as SULTAN enough to convey to the Rev.d...as
having a stable of Arabian horses, as an arms dealer who profits by
selling bombs to both sides.

Maybe, just maybe, your hypothesis is dead in the water. But it's only a
hypothesis.
You won't be the first person to begin with a very bad hypothesis and
end up with a good thesis if you stop wasting time re-writing our posts.
