Those boudoirs are permeable and the Wind carries messages, songs,
music, voices, ghosts, histories unrecorded and so forth. Mason hasn't
much resistance to the Winds.
Wonder why?
This also supports Paul N's important point here. M&D is not a tale
about Dixon and Mason, but what might be blowing in the Wind.
In any event, it's worth keeping a finger up in the Wind when reading
P.
