Why Tristan and Isolde? In the context of the GR quote refering to Frau 
Gnahb it would have something to do with a "Don't Fuck with Her" message.  
Isolde, having been scorned by Tristan, is enraged and her "Mother's" 
heritage of the Black Arts are brought to bear, thus bringing calamity to 
them both.  Don't Mess with Mothers.
