Well, at least you believe me, Doug. You do, don't you, Doug? Please tell me you believe!  Oh, God, what am I saying; of course you believe. And dear John Lundy believes too. It's very disheartening, though.  After all my efforts to show a little femininity on this mostly male list--arses and whips and empathy. They're just vain attempts against the overwhelming evidence against me--double spaces after my periods. God, I hope the evidence against Osama isn't that flimsy.  
Oh, maybe I'm just fooling myself.  Maybe I'm not as convincing a writer as I thought.  Then again, if I was gonna be mistook for anybody around here, better it be Doug than David or Jasper. I should be flattered. As much as they dog you, Doug, I think they actually admire you. 
Whatever, though--let them think what they want. You and I know we're not the same person. And dear John Lundy knows.  (Rest assured, John, my double spaces are all woman.) That's good enough for me.
