Pre-recorded? What other kind would there be? The guy's on the run making his way around in ambulances and crowds of women and children so he won't get hit. I can't imagine he'd be doing any live broadcasts now. 
I heard "flowery" and "inflammatory" in the radio news report. 
Coded messages? Is that's what they're worried about?  I bet they are.  I understand the US Army coat and the Timex watch he was wearing was something of a code. I don't know much Arabic, but I think it's translated to mean, Fuck you, America!
That's to be expected, though, eh?

The request had to do specifically with pre-recorded statements.  No demands 
were made and, as it was described last night on MacNeill Lehrer there was no 
specifying of  "flowery" or "inflammatory" parts; the news organizations were 
asked to use their own discretion, as it is believed that the pre-recorded 
tapes might contain coded messages--eye movements, gestures, etc.
