Of course Pynchon takes the geopolitics of oil seriously in GR, it's of
some interest to the study of Pynchon, and I know that some P-listers are
interested in that article because they tell me so; whether Terrance wants
to consider it or not, some Pynchon readers do. And P tees off on
Reagan-Bush foreign & domestic policy in Vineland, a political worldview
that is the object of discussion in the Pynchon community, whether Terrance
wants to discuss it or not. If Terrance and rj/jbor/rjackson/? and their
anonymous mouthpieces can use the P-list as a forum to promote the Bush
Administration, globalization, and the rest of their political agenda, I
figure it's OK to steer the discussion back towards the political positions
that Pynchon clearly stakes out in his work -- too bad for them that
Pynchon's on the progressive, anti-fascist side of the fence.

"As far as we're concerned, pretty much any Pynchon-related topic is OK on
this list, from Pynchon apocrypha through light discussion of our favourite
passages, to litcrit as heavy as you want."

I figure if it's OK for Pynchon to mention Bush and oil and multinational
corporations and war profiteering and genocide, and so many other topics of
immediate interest in our current Situation in his work, it ought to be OK
to mention those topics on Pynchon-L. But, you don't have to talk about
them if you don't want to, Terrance.

Terrance:
"None of us wants this."

I wouldn't be so sure if I were you. Quite a few people tell me otherwise.

I don't remember any P-list rule that outlines how the discussion is
supposed to proceed. Do what you will, or not, with my posts. I promise to
do my best to figure yours out, too, and sometimes that's a tall order.

Terrance:
"We [...]"
"We [...]
"We [...]
"We [...] we [...]
"We [...] we [...] [...] we [...] we [...] we [...] we

So, how many fake names are you using to post to Pynchon-L?
