He's just one guy, but my Iranian ex-husband seems almost pleased with
America's military might. He definitely wants to see the Taliban go; and if
the truth be known, he wants to see his *own* mullahs go too. He's
disgusted with the whole zealous lot of them! And if it takes an air war,
then so be it. "Go get 'em boys! Sure am glad I'm on your side now!" Oh,
maybe I'm mischaracterizing him. I should be more charitable. He's not
blood-thirsty or lily-livered or anything, he's just caught up in the
'velvet grip' like so many. And how he loved those F15s or 16s as a boy.
He does sway to good argument though. I couldn't put Gravity's Rainbow on
him, but I bet I could get him thinking and voting Green on election eve if
I tried. ( It's the least he could do for me; I gave him his citizenship
after all! : ) Besides it was he who first introduced to me the idea of
America's corruption and colonialism all those years ago. He seems to have
forgotten it in all the Glory, but I'm sure it'll all come streaming back
when I remind him.
