Just so I can maintain my subscription to this list, here's my Annual Comment 
on Pynchon's text: I like it. Maybe not erudite, but at least honest.
Now, tell David Horowitz not to be so damn condescending and Babs that I 
don't care if she's Doug, a peacenick (Couldn't you have been more creative?) 
or even of the female gender. We (if I can use that pronoun Doug) are going 
to bomb the beejesus out of the Taliban and God only knows who else, OK. 
Let's move on.
