Quite a while since we had a riddle on the list.  From which book is
this a quotation?

"[. . .] but Kate insisted she herself would enteratin him  -- the
Strumpet -- and I reckon  'tis with him that she elop'd.  But fear not,
we'll see the Strumpet hang'd, I warrant.   O what Satisfaction 'twill
be to hear the Snap of her foolish Neck and see her swing at Tyburn."

The book did appear before 1997.
