Well, not many are suggesting that the USA or the UN (happy birthday to
the UN) or the world do nothing. That option will not stand up to
scrutiny. However, the options are not, either make war or do nothing.
There are a lot of options here. And even when one supports the use of
some sort of justifiable force one does not necessarily support what the
USA government and/or its coalition or the UN calls justifiable force.
If one says that some sort of military action should be taken, it
doesn't follow that one has to agree that the USA should be the one to
take it or lead it. I don't think the USA should bomb Afghanistan. To
name one obvious reason. I think it's obscene, and obviously so, that
the USA is flying B-2 sorties from the United States. Why? To show off?
The Bush administration was doing OK in my book until they began the
military strikes. I think most of the things they have done (what other
nations have done) will make the world a safer place. Afghanistan is
not the bull's eye. It is not the center of terrorist training. There is
no center. Where should be bomb next? Iraq? SA? Egypt? Sudan? Pakistan?
Syria? Where? The point is, we will not be able to bomb away terrorism.
We can reduce it, but bombing may produce more of it not less. If the
Bush administration halts the bombing for Ramamdan (I think they have
confirmed that they will not) a coalition of nations in the region could
be assembled and food distribution could begin again. The people need to
be cared for and then we can begin to assist them in restructuring a
nation and supporting a lasting peace.

This is simple I know, but I'm simply suggesting that there are
alternatives to a USA led military option.

Also, I think the altnews stuff is total crap. No better than the
propaganda on CNN.

Here is there latest rant:

Same old lies.
