Reclusive?

Someone referenced a recent story:
>the narrator pretends to be a reclusive author that is quite clearly
>supposed to be Pynchon.

Nothing I've heard or read about Pynchon supports the commonly-used 
description of him as a recluse.  The sentiment above encourages the 
mischaracterization of, to paraphrase Pynchon, "doesn't talk to reporters" 
as "reclusive."

I haven't read the story.
