Didn't he collaborate, or agree to be characterised at least, on that
episode of "The John Larroquette Show", even to the point of asking that the
character wear a Roky Erickson t-shirt or some such? And isn't he reputed to
have enjoyed watching "The Brady Bunch"?

Pretty obvious (from _GR_ and _Vineland_ in particular) that he's been an
avid fan of both film and TV over a long period of time.
