David is certainly correct. No point in reasoning with Doug, hasn't been for
a long time. And yes the desire to mock him is almost irresistable much of
the time. As to the motivation for his persistence one is tempted to say
self punishment but who can know.  That he has too much free time on his
hands is another problem. A problem for many of us myself included. I think
the most constructive idea on the p-list lately has been from MalignD who
recognized a spark of confusion the other day in his otherwise fanatical
stance against the course of America. This humanized him for me because I'm
constantly feeling similar confusions.
