academic bonafides and especially his particular areas of expertise before
you go out on a limb, unless you'd prefer not to contaminate your thinking
with new information. I think he made a pretty good case for the
anti-Semitism of rj/rjackson/jbor/rob j/?'s attack -- but maybe I am wrong
and you, the instant experts on 19th century anti-Semitism, maybe you do
have the real poop on this one.

At any rate, once your buddy rj/rjackson/jbor/rob j/? knew Derek thought it
anti-Semitic, don't you wonder, at least a little bit, why he/she didn't
back off and apologize, why rj/rjackson/jbor/rob j/? continued to fling
what he/she now knew his/her interlocutor deemed an anti-Semitic slur? And
this is the kind of person you want to ally yourself with on Pynchon-L?
Really? Wow. That kind of loyalty generals can only dream about!

Anyway, I guess these means you aren't going to apologize for calling me a

It does seems to be causing a certain degree of anxiety for
rj/rjackson/jbor/rob j/?, I was just trying to help by reminding him/her of
the sequence. I'm sure he/she will let us all know the results of his/her
investigation. As he/she did back when he/she was nosing around, trying to
prove that Charles Hollander and I were hacking  his/her PC and  the
Pynchon-L archives -- and that one proved to be more than a little
embarrassing for him/her when word got around to a certain editor, didn't
it Rob.
