New York is in a state of high tension.  Police and ambulances are
everywhere.  The supermarkets are full.  The streets are packed with
people and cars, even all the way uptown where I live, at the north end
of Central Park.  I imagine it's folks trying to get out, but the bridges
and tunnels are all closed and the subways are shut down.
