    Another terrible development: there have been reports of violence inflicted
upon innocent Arab-Americans in New York and elsewhere.  In New York, reports of
taxi drivers and other citizens being beaten brutally.  My sympathies go with
the millions of innocent Muslims and Arabs in the U.S. and abroad: to take out
anger against those who happen to nominally share a religion or an ethnic
identity with the alleged terrorists is irrational, irreprehensible.
