Hey there "no fun"
This is great...please, please continue. Too many of us "south of the border
folks" have a knowledge base that stops at Niagra Falls. And I for one am
particularly guilty.
Now gee doesn't it make sense that the loyalists should head for Canada.
Imagine...a safe haven for loyalists and fugitives from slavery and
pacifists.

Actually, a surprising number of Loyalists moved to Canada. Maybe not
enough in number to be statistically signifigant to the Rebel Colonies but
certainly enough to be of influence in Upper (english speaking) Canada and
Nova Scotia/ New Brunswick. Anyway, it seems a lot of them DID NOT
reconcile themselves and rebuild their communities after the war. Loyalists
either fled or were prodded (I'm loath to say forced) away from the new U.S.
Oh well, I'd hate to get into a disussion on CANADIAN history here. B-but I
could if you asked me to...
