Pynchon & retribution

Before anybody buys into Bush's our-good-terror v the
-bad-guys'-evil terror, you might want to leap ahead
in the reading of M&D and see what Pynchon has to say
about the possibilities of projecting evil onto a
external other and being able to kill it:  that
project leads to suicide.  The wyrm turns.

We might also look to GR for insight into the causes
of War -- in the Pynchonian world view -- and how that
might relate to the current situation. No accident
that  the U.S. military and financial powers are the
focus of hatred, given the violence that they have
perpetrated and sponsored.

This is a time to stop the violence, not to escalate
it.
