Settle down boys,
I agree its crass to discuss American foreign policy shortcomings and the
impurity of some of its geopolitical machinations right at this point, but
those raising these issues are not, from what I read, in any way attempting
to downplay the scale of this tragedy. I saw a passenger list last night
for one of the planes. Among the dead were a mum, dad and their two year
old baby. Just seeing those names on the screen, rolling like credits at
the end of a movie, moved me beyond belief.
I understand how Jasper and Dave and the other Americans on the list feel.
Those who wish to discuss the wider implications and motives of the attack
should show a little sensitivity.
