How about suspending onlist hostilities for a
"respectable" amount of time as well?  Perhaps the
best course of action here would indeed be to hold the
course we were holding so well thanks to the efforts
of Judy, jbor, et al.  Do what we do well, with a
consciencious effort to avoid mirroring the
world-historical hostilities which have come to
crisis.  
And I suspect we're all far more adept at discussing
Pynchon than real-life, real-time foreign policy et
al. ...
